Billion Dollar Ad’s!

If someone told you to cut off your arm because they said it would make you more beautiful, would you? Or maybe cut parts of your nose to make it look a certain way, would you do it? If being like the same person that came before you and after you is what you want to achieve than I would say go for it. Each year thousands of plastic surgeries are performed on women and men to fit society’s view of “beautiful”. Ads like, Victoria’s Secret, show off supermodels and attach the words perfect, influencing people to think that the bodies on this ad is what people should believe is beautiful or what they should look like. Yes, they are stunning but, they’re also photoshopped. Recently, an anonymous photo retoucher for Victoria’s Secret confessed to Refinery 29 just how much professionals are manipulating the pictures that we see in ads. You know the Victoria Secret model look, they’re skinny, tall, exotic women that seem to always have perky breast that magically float in the pictures which when comparing to our own, we’re just left sad and a little depressed about them. It turns out, the boobs we see in these ads, are less than real. The anonymous source states that they  “They put a push-up bra under the bathing suit. And we retouch out the bra…a lot of [staffers] would complain because they even did it with strapless stuff. When you’re wearing a strapless bikini, in no way, shape, or form [can] you have cleavage. It’s physically impossible with the way gravity works.” Advertisements have one job and it’s to make you spend your money. Don’t fall for their tricks even these gorgeous models don’t look like that, so why are you cutting pieces of yourself to look like them, when you can be bold and beautiful by being you?
